Marine & Deerfield is moving to Richmond Virginia!

Suzanne WarfieldComment

Unfortunately, I will not be able to take any orders until mid-end of September. If you have a project or are interested in something, feel free to email me, as I’m still available to make plans, but just not make hats. I will be in a bigger and better space, with more ideas flowing.

There is a HUGE change ahead in my life, and that change is location. Nothing else changes, my writings, my work, etc... But I am moving from New York where I've lived for the last 30 years (except that 3-year stint in Hamburg Germany) and headed to Richmond, Virginia. A place I lived in for 3 and half years in my early 20's. I never thought I'd go back. But over the past few years, every time we visited, it just grew on us more and more.

It's a small city (not town, not country), packed full of fun things. There are two universities, one in the middle and one in the outskirts. There is a fun community of life centered around arts, music, food, and entertainment. To us, it's like a mini Brooklyn. But without the crowds, trash, traffic, and hostility. Don't get me wrong, I love Brooklyn. I love all that I don't like about it too. It makes it special. But I'm just ready for change. Plus it's close to family and friends that I want closer to me.

So I'm sorting and packing up, and at the end of this month, everything gets shipped (trucked) out. Then I'll be staying out east in Amagansett till September. All the planning stays in good standing, we'll move to Richmond over or around Labor Day. After that, I'll be back and forth, with my main residence in Richmond, and part-time in Amagansett. But I’ll have full-time large studio where I can make lots of delicious hats.

So that's me. How about you?

How are you?

What's going on in your life?
